Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms and Lacquer Balm Review

Hey Guys!

I hope you were able to keep up with all of the sudden blog changes Hotdougandbun.com under went!

I wanted to do a review for you guys since fall is upon us and all anyone is talking about is lips lips lips! I am not the biggest fan of lip products I usually slap on a tinted balm so when I heard about these Revlon Colorburst Balms I had to try them out! I only picked up one in the Lacquered Balm and four of the Matte Balms and they are amaaaaazingly pigmented! I can not express that more to you! The pigmentation is insane in these balms, so insane you wouldn’t even think that they were a balm.

The Lacquered Balm goes on smooth and has an extreme shine factor. I particularly am not a fan of such shine but if you are a shiny glossy girl there is nothing I can say bad about the Lacquered balms! Definetly a winner in my book and I need to get more of the Lacquered Balms. They have a large color range and they aren’t high priced! They last on the lips about 2 hours and fade evenly on the lips so you don’t look like some crazy lady with patchy lip color!

8/10

Now for the Revlon Matte Balms the colors are phenomenal! These are once again very pigmented! But the formula is a little off in my opinion. Being a matte they do sink into the lip lines and highlight every little flaw in the lips so exfoliating the lips are a must before using this product. The Matte Balms go on very creamy and smooth but a matte to me means it drys and has intense staying power. These never seem to be very matte they are creamy and smooth and the only difference between these and the lacquered balms is the shine. To me not having a shine does not make them matte.

6.5/10

The staying power on both the lacquered and matte balms is about 2 hours then you should wipe the product off before reapplying or they tend to get a little gross. The reason I go for mattes is for the staying power and the Revlon Matte Balms do not have more lasting power than the lacquer balms and in my opinion if I am not getting the benefits of the matte I would rather have the lacquer.

Overall the Revlon Lacquer and Matte Balms are impressive. The pigmentation is on point and literally these are worth it just for that. These are both creamy and smooth and feel nice on the lips they are not drying at all. The only problem I had was the staying power of the mattes.

I picked up one Lacquered and four Mattes. Here are lip swatches to show how great they look!
